Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Mable

Mable May has been a wonderful and exciting addition to our family. We have had her for about five months. She is super energetic and likes to chew on everything.

Polar
Polar

Hi, my name is Lisa and I'm Polars mommy. He is doing wonderful! He hasn't had any problems adjusting. I will send pics so you can see how well he's doing and how much he's grown.

Thanks for everything. He is so loved here. My hubby says he's a real mommy's boy.

Jackpot
Jackpot

Sorry it's taken so long to respond, my husband Tom had surgery recently & we've been busy. Jackpot is growing like a weed and we love him dearly. He's spoiled rotten but that's ok because we did it, LOL. He loves to be outdoors but no matter where he is, he wants to be with one of us at all times.

Glad we adopted him and I've had many compliments on my dog and have referred others to your site.

Suzie, Tom and Jackpot

Maci

First of all sorry for the delay in sending you an update on Maci.

Maci is doing great! She loves chasing squirrels around the yard, going for walks, going for rides in the car and she loves burying her bones either in the cushions of the couch or by digging a hole in the yard. If she could, she would sit in your lap all day as long as you keep petting her.

She is well adjusted now and we all love her considering this is the first dog any of us my wife, my daughter, and myself ever owned!

She has been to Dr. Fox twice for her shots and boosters. She is a great dog, very well mannered and everyone that meets her falls in love with her.

I have attached some photos for you.

Nilla

Hi! I wanted to send you a follow-up on my adoptee - Nilla - who has been renamed Jake. I adopted him on April 30, 2011 when he was 7 weeks old. I LOVE HIM!!

I adopted him shortly after my first "baby" passed away (she was 13 years old - labrador) and I could not stand the loneliness. Jake is the best dog ever! My daughter and I love him and he is part of not only the family but our neighborhood. He has several dog friends in the neighborhood and he loves to play with them. Everyone who meets him just adores him.

If I only knew then what a great dog he would be, I would have adopted two from that litter. He doesn't chew any household item, only his toys, he is obedient and loving. He barks only to get our attention to throw the ball or if he sees something that appears untrustworthy to him. He is the apple of my eye! The picture I've attached was taken on his first birthday.
