Meet Teddy!

Teddy is a sweet and affectionate 9-year-old Lhasa Apso mix looking for a loving forever home. His previous owner could no longer care for him, but he’s ready to bring joy to a new family. Teddy would thrive with someone who works from home or is retired—he loves having his person nearby and can be sensitive to being left alone. While he may experience some separation anxiety, he responds well to calming aids like Quiet Moments soft chews, which also help with loud noises and thunder.

Teddy needs a confident and patient owner who can be his Alpha. He can be a little headstrong and vocal when he wants attention, but he is incredibly loyal and thrives on companionship. He will happily stay by your side wherever you go, and once he finds his spot in your home, he settles in and waits calmly for you to return. A simple free-standing gate is enough to keep him in place, as he doesn’t try to climb or push through barriers.

For his age, Teddy is active and energetic. He loves long walks, sitting outside in the lanai, listening to the birds, and taking in the fresh air.

He may need slow introductions to new canine friends, and his former owner noted that he does not do well with large dogs.

He’s house-trained, loves belly rubs, and enjoys squeaky toys. While he’s not much of a snuggler, he loves being petted and will enjoy your company by your side.
