The Story
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Ember (Biscuit)
REMEMBERING EMBER (fka BISCUIT): Biscuit was 5 years old when she came to us in January of this year from Talladega Animal Control. She was fostered by an amazing family who ended up adopting her on February 5 of this year. They named her Ember. She loved to be with her people and go for long walks and search for lizards and squirrels. She loved car rides and pup cups. About two months ago she was diagnosed with Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia (IMHA) which is a serious, life-threatening autoimmune disease in dogs that causes the body to attack its own red blood cells. She was doing well on medication until about a week ago when she took a turn for the worse. After several days of treatment at the emergency vet they told the family that she was doing great and they could come pick her up. When the family was five minutes away the ER Vet called back and said no she’s crashing again. They got there and spent time with her and they could see that she was in a lot of discomfort and pain and the doctors still had no idea what was causing her to crash like that so the painful decision was made to let her go peacefully. RIP Ember. You were well loved for the short 8 months you were with your family.

Maybelline
This was my best friend's beloved Maybelline. She waiting for you now B.S. until you can meet her at the Rainbow Bridge..

Moon Shadow (fka Siam)
"This year was so wonderful with her. She showed us every day how she loved us. But she was called to the Rainbow Bridge last Saturday. Even up to the last minute before we brought her to the vet she was loving."

Kathryn "Katy" McLintock
Katy and Maddie came to us as an inseperable pair of little loves. While they were only with us for a short time, their love for one another, and the love they shared with us, left an indescribable print on all our hearts. Katy's choice to cross over Rainbow's Bridge has been felt by us all, and we pray that her Forever Family finds solace in the prayers we send them. Thank you to her family, and to A Second Chance Rescue for allowing us to have been given so much unconditional love in so short a time <3 .... our thoughts and prayers are with ALL of you.....we still love you Katy ... Shaw Clan (( Robert, Tina, Dani, Cheyenne, Makaya, Keiko, and the others that have come into our lives ))
