My name is Ivie and although I've had my share of pain, my experiences have made me the great dog that I am today. My previous owners allowed me to get pregnant, then dropped off at Broward Animal Control as punishment. There, I gave birth to a beautiful litter of puppies but one of my babies didn't make it. Lots of people came and made over my puppies, but mostly people just ignored me. One-by-one, people picked out my puppies and soon I was all alone.

All I want is a chance. Just a special person to throw the tennis ball for me, to look into my eyes and make me their special girl. I want to be stroked and admired like my puppies were. Do you want someone to take nice walks with? That can be me! Would you rather have me keep your feet warm on the sofa? I can do that too! I love kids because children have been kind to me. Sometimes grown ups make me a little nervous at first. Its not that I don't want to trust you...I just haven't seen the best in people. But if you just show me a little patience, I will be the dog you've always dreamed of.
