Description:
Meet Patches. Patches and her sister Shadow were rescued by one of our veterinarian partners. she is very sweet and loves attention. Also, Shadow and Patches are very rare in their markings as they are dilute calicoes. You can meet shadow and patches at our Petco Boynton Beach cattery.

What is a Dilute Calico you ask? Calico cats are domestic cats with a spotted or parti-colored coat that is predominantly white, with patches of two other colors (often the two other colors are orange tabby and black).
"Dilute" simply means the color is less intense. For example, cream is the dilute version of red, and blue is the dilute version of black. Cream is a soft reddish color, like strawberry blond, and blue is a smoky gray color. Other dilute colors include lilac, which looks like a lighter version of blue but is actually the dilute of chocolate; and fawn, which appears beige and is the dilute of cinnamon.Because genetic determination of some coat colors in cats is linked to the X chromosome, calicoes are nearly always female and in many cultures calicos are considered good luck!
