Animal Success Stories
As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek! Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes. We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families. If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story! Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Daisy
Daisy is doing great, we love that sweet ball of fluff! This is a picture of her yesterday at puppy play time. We go every Saturday. Yesterday she made great progress, her third visit. She has also won the heart of my senior dog, who I have to give lots of credit. He has taught her so much.
Thank you for going above and beyond in finding homes for our furry friends!
Sincerely,
Robin Cutler
Deja-Vu
Hi this is Jennifer Pearl, I recently adopted Deja Vu( now Daisy ).... Words can't express what a wonderful, intelligent, loving dog she is. From about 5 minutes into her new home and family Daisy integrated seamlessly, as if she were our baby from the start. Our adoption with your organization was wonderful, as was her foster mom. She genuinely cared for Daisy and really made an effort to tell us all of Daisys needs. This was essential in determining whether we were the right family, I can't imagine adopting a dog and then discovering that we couldnt meet the dogs needs...
Digger
Hello to all of the wonderful pet lovers at A Second Chance Rescue! My name is Bowden, but you guys used to call me Digger. I love my new home in Lantana. My mommy has spoiled me with trips to pet stores for treats and toys, lots and lots of kisses and lap time. She also walks with me on our property many times a day. I get to walk along three docks on our property and I have learned so much about animals that live in the water! I even met a manatee! Plus the amount of lizards on my property is ridiculous! It's a never ending challenge for me, but one that I thoroughly enjoy. I also have an Uncle and Aunt who think I'm the greatest dog in the world (beside Dunkel, my cousin). I have my Grandma wrapped around my paw! I enjoy getting to spend time with her when my mommy has to run errands. Grandma is a great cook and I get to supervise. She is constantly dropping things and I pick them up for her. Then for some reason she doesn't ask for them back like my mommy does. Oh well! My Grandpa, I took to instantly. But I can tell he's not going to let me get away with all that Grandma does! But he's a good petter so I enjoy spending time with him too. I get to meet my other cousins during Thanksgiving, Gabby (3 1/2) and Patrick (1 1/2) are coming to visit. I'm so excited! I'm sending you a picture of my brother Tigger and me lounging on mommy's bed. Tigger is great company to have when mommy goes to work. He doesn't like to play as much I would like, but mommy says I have to respect my elders, so I mostly lounge with him. I just save my playing energy for our walks and play dates.
Thanks for finding me such a great home! I'm a very lucky dog! I'll keep in touch! Love, Bowden
Delilah
Hello Second Chance family,
We are writing to inform you that Delilah has successfully acclimated to her new home and family. She and our other dog Portia (adopted from A Second Chance in 2009) have become best buds. Portia still likes to have her space now and then as she is older and was use to being an "only child" but Delilah adores her, follows her everywhere and does as Portia does. When Portia is more in the mood to play, they go for hours running, chasing, wrestling and pouncing on each other. Once they tire out you never have to look far for either of them as they are always curled up together on the nearest bed, snuggling. Thank you for helping us make our family complete! We hope you enjoy the attached photos.
Dori
Hello,
Dori is adjusting great with our Min Pins. She does not interact much with our 17 year old Min Pin but she is feeling at home with our 8 year old. Abbey and Dori have play time every morning and they both love being out in the lani.
She has adopted to sharing an oversize cage with Abbey to sleep in. She is getting use to the commands that Abbey and Duke are custom to hearing such as 'Bed'.
We are very happy that we were able to offer Dori a 'Forever home'.
