Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Eve

Thanks again for all your help during this process. We're SO happy to have Eve as part of our family. We changed her name to Molly Tekila, as my daughter chose Molly and my son chose Tekila! She is a loving dog, but a little bit shy with strangers, so we've been introducing her regularly to all our friends and she is doing great! She is interacting a little bit more every time! She definitely loves kids and she is wonderful around them!

Since we got her she is the one in charge of waking up the kids in the morning! It's so funny because she does it by kissing them until they're awake! They call her affectionately the "kissing monster."

Many thanks again for everything and I'll keep you posted!

Sincerely,
Rosa Velazquez

Erica
Erica

We have changed her name to Jasmine. She is doing very well, fitting in with me & my fiancé perfectly! Our cats Midnight & Shadow are still getting used to her, but they are coming around... getting to the point where they want to sniff her. Still in the potty training process but she's getting much better!

Ebony

Diane, We are so happy to have Ebony in our lives. She now goes by the name Ginger and is a lively, healthy pup! And how she has grown in just one month! Our two children, Sarah (10) and Oscar (7), have been involved in Ginger’s caretaking and training. We think Ginger is smart! She has caught on to what is expected of her in the house. She only chews on her toys (what a relief) and is house trained! She is also learning some tricks and loves to play in the backyard with us. We have a great vet down here in Broward County that will care for Ginger. Ginger has also made many dog and human friends in our neighborhood. Thank you again to you, her foster family and A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue for all your good works! Lisa, Leo, Sarah and Oscar Villalobos

Elly
Elly

I am sorry it took me this long to answer. I just want you to know that Elly is doing great. She is a good girl and she has adjusted beautifully to our family. She is very smart and playful. We love her. The only problem we are working on, is training her to urinate outdoors. We hope that as she matures she will be fully trained. Thank you very much for all you do. May God Bless you, Love, Olga Alvarez

Echo

Our family loves Echo. She fits in the family perfect. My daughter however, changed her name to Hannah. She is such a good puppy and so good with the kids. Thank you for doing what you do for the animals. I make sure to tell people to check out your website rather than go to a pet store. Thanks again.
