Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Jacinda
Jacinda

Hi, Sorry to take so long in responding, I am not too quick at responding to emails. Jacinda is doing great and growing bigger. We did change her name to Jesse. She made herself at home very quickly and is fun to have around. We love having Jesse as part of our family. Attached is a recent picture of Jesse. Dan

Joplin

Hi, Little Joplin is now named " Palooza " she is a sweetheart and doing great almost housebroken and very smart . We love her to pieces and still do not understand where the Australian Cattle dog is in her, do you know more about her mix ? I would say she is a Australian shepherd mix , it does not matter a lot what she is, just nice to know .I will send pictures from my I phone soon, Thanks for all the great work you are doing ,and talk to you soon, Birgit Edler and Palooza :)

Jumanji

First off we are so enjoying the new puppy. The first few days were a bit challenging as we have never raised a dog even when my husband and i grew up. It has been a wonderful family experience so far. We look forward to raining a well adjusted dog and enjoying it for life Second, we changed the name to Molly as it seems to fit so very well thank you for your follow up Let me know if there is anything else I can do Sincerely, Kelly

Jamaica

Thank you for your email. We changed Jamaica's name to "Kylie Marie" but we usually just call her "Kylie." It means "beautiful" in Gaelic, but it also means "boomerang" in Australian (very fitting for her!) Attached is a photo - as you can probably tell, she is a typical, rambunctious puppy! She is VERY smart - already housebroken and she is learning not to bite or jump up. She loves to race around, and jump over, and slither under things, so we may enter her in some agility training when she gets bigger. Everyone loves her and she loves everyone! She is an all around treasure and we are thankful, this Thanksgiving, that A Second Chance was able to save her for us! Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! Diane and Gary Kilpatrick

Jemma
Jemma

Hello, Jemma is great! We are extremely happy, and she has adjusted very well. She is an incredible dog. We have her on a daily routine. We walk in the morning, and visit the dog park in the afternoon. We have two other dogs, so she has plenty of company. I do not understand why she was given up on twice before. Regards, Jason
