Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Mary

Hi Lisa!

Just wanted to tell you how much I am enjoying Moose! She is full of energy and just the sweetest thing ever. She gets along great with other dogs and experienced the beach for the first time this week. She wasn't too sure, but after she saw her big brother swimming around she went in right after him.

Thanks for all that you do!

Christine

Maverick

Dusty (I changed his name) is a pistol! Those people who have seen him or his photos have said he is very handsome. He plays/torments the other felines and has even managed to get my 118 pound Bouvier around his little paw. He is very talkative and so busy. Adopting Dusty was a joyful decision on my part and he has certainly settled in very happily.

Everyone was very pleasant and knowledgeable. They were encouraging without being pushy as well as being very helpful. I appreciate that there is follow-up after the adoption - he was not just handed over and forgotten.

Keep up your good work.

Sharon

Myla

We adopted our Ginger (formerly Myla) from your organization in April 2011.

Ginger is excellent at agility courses, swimming, diving, sunbathing and loves our cat, Sage.  She plays several days a week at doggie daycare at Boca Veterinary and is a big hit there because she carries her Hello Kitty lunchbox in and out each day.

At 85 lbs she is a very happy & loving girl.

Merlyn

Hello!

We adopted Merlyn a month ago and renamed her Maya. She is an amazing animal. She adapted very well and took over the whole house. Her favorite new toy is her older brother's tail and her favorite place to sleep is on my pillow.

Maya is fearless...she is the bravest little kitten I have ever seen. We had to kitty proof the house because she was trying to take big jumps that were too high even for our older cat. She is such a cuddler and perfect in so many ways. This kitty wants to play, cuddle, bite, attack, purr and be held all in the same time.

We loved her since the first day we brought her home.

Moe

Noah (formerly Moe, tiger kitty, adopted in March 2012) and Destinee (formerly Robbie, black kitty, adopted in December 2011) are doing great!  They are not outside cats but we do take them out for walks and they have gotten used to their leashes.  They are wonderful and get along great!

Thank you!  We feel blessed!

Millie
