Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Orion
Orion

Hi Kathy, All is well with Orion (Zo)! After we brought him home, we discovered that he had "worms" in his stool. However, he was treated by Dr. Fox, the results have been good! We love Zo! Keep in touch! Glenda

Oly
Oly

kathy just to let you know that oly is now emmie in our family. she is truly the love of our lives. her relationship with our 12 year old beagle is the cutest thing you could imagine. they have found a true love in each other. emmie is a quick learner and a very bright animal. we can't imagine what life was like without her. she has brought so much joy back into our household since we lost our 14and a half yr old beagle this summer. emmie is about ten pounds already and loves her food. she is really a very easy puppy to train and of course love so very much. she is so much apart of our daily routine and we just can't wait to come home to her after work. thanks again for bringing this most special animal into our lives. hope her sisters are all doing well beth and alan Alan J. Omi
Omi

We adopted Omi on Oct.30th so we named her Kandee. She has been so much fun and has given us complete joy. Her sister, Daisy loves to run and play with her. She is already getting bigger! Thank you to her foster mom for taking such good care of her. We just love Kandee....thank you!

Olivia
Olivia

Olivia is doing amazing, I did rename her Rascal though, it seems to fit so much better. And even though she is only around 10 weeks old she is nearly potty trained, no accidents in 3 days yay! She did not like her crate at first but she is getting used to it. she has lots of new toys and absolutely loves ropes. When she went to her wellness visit we discovered that she had tapeworms but the vet gave her medicine and they seem to be gone, I will find out for sure next week when she goes in for her next round of shots. I love my little puppy so much and can't wait to see how much she grows and learns. Rebecca Marrero

Opal
Opal

Hi Kathy, So nice of you to check up on Maggie (FKA Opal)! I let her know that you were asking about her. She is currently sitting under my desk curled up sleeping. She is doing wonderfully and well acclimated to our home. Above are some pictures I took of her at the beginning of the month. She loves to go outside in the yard (while I am gardening or sitting by the pool) and watch the birds and squirrels. We did have quite a few bunnies before she came, but she especially loves to chase them around the yard, so they don't come by too often anymore. The second picture from the top I took of her as she was watching a squirrel scurry along the stockade fence. Sometimes the squirrels come down to check her out. Maggie races across the yard after them and the next thing you know they are "raising cane" with her from the top of the pine tree. She absolutely loves to sit out in the yard and warm herself in the sun. I did have her in the pool a couple weeks ago, but she just stood there waiting for me to tell her it was okay to get out. She prefers to watch from a distance The last picture is of her with her pet dog in her bed. She LOVES to sleep and is in her bed or on her chenille rug most of the time when she is in the house. She gets quite irritable if she doesn't get her twenty hours of beauty sleep each day. Maggie is a sweet and loving dog. We enjoy her every day. She has become a welcome member of the family. We plan to take her up to Chattanooga in December to meet my daughter and her family. We would love to buy a couple raffle tickets. I will send the money out in tomorrow's mail. Have a super week!
