Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Peter Pan
Peter Pan

Thank you. we actually changed his name to Diesel instead of Peter Pan. BUt he is doing great, he has gotten so big already. All our dogs get along real well and so far he is good with the kids. He does pee alot all over the hous, but my neighbor that trains german shepards told me that puppies cant control thier bladders until 12 weeks. So we just follow him around with a mop! But he went to hid follow up vet appointment a few days after we adopted him and he has a clean bill of health, and this friday he is going to go get groomed with the rest of the dogs. Other than that not much else to tell. And if/ when we are ready to ever get another animal we will definately come to second chance animal rescue first

Pudge
Pudge

Hi just wanted to let you know the adoption of Cinnamon (now known as Maycee) was just wonderful. I also adopted her brother Pudge (now known as Max) They fit into our lives like they were made for us. Both are lap dogs and love to cuddle. They keep each other amused and us laughing our heads off at their antics. I am so happy that Dr Fox advised me to adopt both. He is so wonderful and I felt when I took the dogs out of his office I could relax that they were healthy His advise on feeding and heartworm and flea protection and training issues was right on. The doctors office gave me confidence and peace of mind. They are very professional yet friendly and very helpful. I arranged to have them both groomed through Dr Fox's office. I was very pleased with the results as well as his staff and his wonderful caring attitude. I have dealt with adoptions before and I can tell you that the experience was not so nice. Dr Fox put me at ease about the health and condition of the puppy's and was so kind. I do not know if I would have adopted these to babies if it was not for the confidence I had in Dr Fox. I wish I could use him as my family vet but I live out of state and that is not possible. Oh well my loss. You folks at A Second Chance Rescue are really lucky to have him on board with your organization Sincerely, Diana Jander

Penny
Penny

Sorry for the delay but i have been extremley busy at work with back to school. Penny is doing awesome and my family loves her. My daughter spends every minute with her and penny adores her. Penny is getting bigger and we put her on a raw diet and it is amazing the difference in the energy she has after switching her foods. We will keep you up to date with her progress and we have let several people know about you organization and hopefully they will come adopt from you. Keep up the great work! Adam Born

Piper
Piper

Hi! Everything is going great with piper. She is a well behaved dog! I can honestly say I have only heard her bark maybe 3 times! She is great and thank you for the opportunity to give her a good life. If I can help in anyway please let me know.

Pacman
Pacman

Hello Kathy, Nice to hear from you. Pacman is now Cooper and he is doing very well. He is very active. It's like having a new baby in the house. He's brought a lot of love and excitement to our home. He is progressing very well. When we got him about a month ago or so he was about 17 pounds. I just took him to the vet on the 16th and he is 25 pounds. He is growing and doing well. He has what the vet described as "puppy mange" so he was prescribed a special shampoo to help, but the vet says that it's related to a puppy's immune system being a bit weak. He should outgrow it. Again, thank you for checking in with me. We are very happy with Cooper. Regards, Rossy Robinson
