Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Spice

Well to begin with her name has changed to GINGER. Our family is really happy to have her with us and she is very happy with her new forever home and family.

We have changed her food to Natural Choice and she loves it. Ginger is now 98% potty trained the other 2% is our fault when we miss her signals Ha! Ha! She is very good with the kids and with all of the other dogs and cats in our community. Our neighbors are in love with her. She enjoys going after a Frisbee or ball in our yard. It is hard to get her back in from play time in the yard. She still does a little play biting and we’re working on that. Next month we’ll have a trainer from fun dog training starting a series of training sessions to establish some commands and eradicate some of that puppy behavior.

Overall Ginger has turned out to be the perfect addition to our family. She's a very smart, loving and submissive dog.

Thank you for the work you do.

Thanks!! Well to begin with her name has changed to GINGER. Our family is really happy to have her with us and she is very happy with her new forever home and family. Ginger has been to the doctor twice already, on her first visit she was diagnosed with hook warms and treatment was started and now finished, she is also in treatment for tape warms which we discovered in her stool after her second visit but those are minor issues and the only ones health related. We have changed her food to Natural Choice and she loves it. Ginger is now 98% potty trained the other 2% is our fault when we miss her signals hahaha! She is very good with the kids and with all of the other dogs and cats in our community, our neighbors are in love with her. Sue-Viver

Sue-Viver aka ZoE is a great addition to the family. She initially had a large learning curve due to the lack of interaction with her mom and loss of her siblings. However she is very smart and catches on quickly. She has mastered her puppy classes in three weeks and is continuing to impress us with her abilities. She's fully of energy, loves the beach, and of course chasing her brother, Milk the cat :) She's been a delight and we are enjoying watching her grow (rapidly i might add) in to a healthy and happy dog! Thanks for all you do! Kate and Zoe

Stone

Hello,

The boys have adjusted well to their new home and their little brothers Alex & Joe, who do not leave them alone. I am very happy with the whole process of the adoption.

Ruth was very sweet and wonderful to deal with. I would recommend A Second Chance to anyone.

Thank you for the new addition to the family.

Sammy
Sammy

Happy to say that Sammy has settled in just fine. He acts like he was born here in his forever home and it only took him about a week to train us, so I think it's safe to say that we are all very very happy.

A week ago last Saturday, we took Sammy to visit with Shelley and Caroline at PETCO in Legacy Place. The reunion was a success for all of us. We are glad to be able to give you our success story.

Thanks for your concern.

Jack and Norma C.
