Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Wonder
Wonder

Hi, Wonder has adjusting really well in our home he loves all the toys we've got him i sent shelley some pictures ill be sure to send you some as well. thank you so much again he's very loved in our home.

Wallaby
Wallaby

We have Woody and his sister Wallaby, and both are Wonderful (just to use another "W")! We have renamed them as Karhu and Nalle. Karhu means "bear" in Finnish, and combined, their names mean "Teddy Bear." I have attached pictures so you can see how big they're getting. They are four weeks into puppy school and doing a great job with their homework (despite the fact that Karhu got to the enrollment papers and showed me what he thought about school!). They have adjusted very well to their new home and neighborhood, and have now begun sleeping in separate crates. They love to play with and snuggle each other, but certainly have distinct personalities. Nalle (Wallaby) is definitely the sweetheart of the two, and she loves to give kisses to anyone and everyone that will let her! Karhu is affectionate also, but more rowdy and vocal. He will be a great defender of his little sister! Everyone who meets them can't get over how cute they are, and of course as proud parents my fiance and I wholeheartedly agree. We are exhausted, as puppyhood is a lot of work, but it is so worth it and we enjoy watching them learn and grow. Thank you for offering us the opportunity to find these blessings. Please send Lisa our best. Carissa and Tom

Whatever

Ivy is a super puppy. We are enjoying her very much. She is a complete joy AND my girls love love love her. Jake (our13 year old yellow lab) likes her too, but really hasn’t completely bonded yet. He mostly tries to stay away from her sharp puppy teeth! He doesn’t seem to mind her joining in on his walks. She walks right beside him and he is fine with that so far. She likes to copy how he automatically sits at every curb before crossing the street. That’s nice. He is a great walker, very well trained, so it’s nice that she is catching on to the walking routine well.

Hello: We wanted to share a couple pictures of our Lucy with you. We have now had her for 3 weeks and we are all adjusting very well. She is sooo sweet and is extremely fond of me. She is so loving and thoroughly enjoys giving her sweet kisses which are so welcomed. We couldn't be happier with her and I truly believe she was meant to be a part of our family for I can feel it. She is such a beautiful dog and has the sweetest face. She is everything I wanted in a dog. Our two Boston Terriers are getting use to having a new "sissy". Sincerely, Diane Mattson
