Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Zamboni
Zamboni

Hello, The puppy previously known as Zamboni is doing Great! His new name is Dallas, a tribute to the family's favorite football team. He is very well behaved and very loving. In return he gets non-stop love from his new family. He has two little girls, 3 and 9, and a boy, 11, as well as me my wife and her father. All living in one house and giving Dallas more play time than he know what to do with. He is doing well with crate and house training. He has only chewed up a couple of things but that was expected. He is an excellent addition to our family and we look forward to many years of wet slobbery kisses. Enjoy the attached photos, Daniel Dodson

Zaccheus
Zaccheus

Hi, Ziggy is doing great and has been to the vet for all his shots. We are going to Donald Ross Animal Hospital which is closer to our home. He loves to go for walks on the leash and is working on potty training. We all love him and he is growing fast. I will try to send a picture to you soon. Thanks, Laura.

Zephyr
Zephyr

Dear Kathy: Zephyr is a complete delight and we can't imagine our lives without him! He loves to be petted and is very loving. He has adjusted very well, and enjoys lounging on all the sofas in the house and on our beds. We have adopted Mambo (my other cat) and Zephyr from you, and I'd like to take this opportunity to commend you on the fantastic work that you all are doing at Second Chance Rescue. Regards, Suruchi

Zena
Zena

Hi Kathy, ZENA now Jill is doing great. We are still battling mange but Dr Fox has her on an oral medication that seems to be working. Since evening one Jill has been comfortable and fitting in soooo well. Did not even cry the first night in her kennel. We have been enjoying everything about her. Barbara did a fantastic job raising her!!! The adoption was very smooth and everyone involved so kind! Thank you, Judy Fraser

Zoe
Zoe

Zoe is doing well - and settled immediately into the routine of her new home. She will be starting "school" at the Humane Society next week - a 6 weeks training course. We were still hoping to get her chip id number so that we could provide it to our vet and the local Humane Society. Dale was going to get us that information. We would really appreciate having that information. I have attached Zoe's Christmas pic. Thanks for all you do.
