Darci

We love this dog! Darci is the greatest dog. When we first brought her home she was a little shy and skittish about some people and she wanted to climb through the fence holes. It was like she had not known any freedom and was overwhelmed with the sounds of the outside. She would bark at our other Rat Terrier, Missy, who is older to try to get her to play and run around a lot. She only took two or three weeks to adjust with all the love and attention she gets from us. She is learning how to tell us she has to go potty outside. She can stay in the yard with us without the leash when we are gardening or in the pool and hang around and comes inside with us when called. She loves to play with everyone and will engage all of us. Everyone in our family loves her including Nana and Papa. I am pretty sure she has come to the conclusion that this is her home now and that she is safe and loved. We had another Rat Terrier named Cookie who died and we loved him very much. Darci is so much like him that she is like the reincarnation of him in a female form (a little smarter though....) We are so blessed she found us. The Riveira Family

Kurt

Hello, We have renamed kurt to lucky. He is doing good and adjusting well. He definitely has grown alot. I have attached a photo. I have been taking him to river bridge hospital with dr. fox for his shots and check ups. I have also signed him up for training classes at petsmart. He starts on monday. Hopefully it will help to socialize him to other dogs because he seems to get frightened and hides behind me when we go near other dogs in they pet store and also hopefully it we help me to train him not to jump up to get food off the kitchen table because he is getting bigger and can almost reach the top of the table. So we will see how he does on monday. We have taught him to sit, lay down, and give me paw. And he is doing well with going to the potty. He only had a couple of accidents and now knows where his potty mat is in the house or to go outside. Thanks for the email and it was good to hear from you.

Lover

Hi Kathy...Lover is doing great! We have named him Drake. My 20 year old son is home for the week with his dog (adopted last year from second chance -Solstice..renamed Captain). The two dogs are having a great time together and we feel very blessed to have them. I tried to attach a pic from earlier this week. My younger son will be taking Drake to dog training next month (through the community center here in Boca). I may look into adopting again later in the summer- not a pup...so Drake has a companion.
