Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Serena

Hi Lynn- Quick picture of me in my home! I'm super happy with my kids and keeping active!! The Clark's

Merlyn

Hello!

We adopted Merlyn a month ago and renamed her Maya. She is an amazing animal. She adapted very well and took over the whole house. Her favorite new toy is her older brother's tail and her favorite place to sleep is on my pillow.

Maya is fearless...she is the bravest little kitten I have ever seen. We had to kitty proof the house because she was trying to take big jumps that were too high even for our older cat. She is such a cuddler and perfect in so many ways. This kitty wants to play, cuddle, bite, attack, purr and be held all in the same time.

We loved her since the first day we brought her home.

Moe

Noah (formerly Moe, tiger kitty, adopted in March 2012) and Destinee (formerly Robbie, black kitty, adopted in December 2011) are doing great!  They are not outside cats but we do take them out for walks and they have gotten used to their leashes.  They are wonderful and get along great!

Thank you!  We feel blessed!

Millie

Sam

Just to give you an update:  Sam turned 5 months old today and weighs 13 pounds.  I adopted him on December 16, 2012.  He is doing well and I just wanted you to see a photo of him.  He has potty trained very well and is getting used to all of his surroundings.

Since he is a puppy, he still bites everything but a large part of that is because he is teething. He loves to eat ice cubes, and loves going to the dog park on the weekend!

Jack

Jack is such a sweet boy.  He loves to play with our other A Second Chance adopted pup, Remi (aka Allie).

They love to tear through the back yard and come in through the open doors and wrestle on the sofa. (Yes, they are allowed on the sofa!)  He, along with the other three dogs we have, sleeps on the bed with us at night.  It gets a little crowded but Jack likes to snuggle, so I love it on these chilly nights!

Jack is a little bit of a piggie as he not only eats his food... he tries to eat everyone else's!!  I am so glad we adopted him...he brings us so much joy! Thanks for rescuing him.  The thought of him being in a high kill shelter just breaks my heart!
