Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

We have changed her name to Jasmine. She is doing very well, fitting in with me & my fiancé perfectly! Our cats Midnight & Shadow are still getting used to her, but they are coming around... getting to the point where they want to sniff her. Still in the potty training process but she's getting much better!

Isis
Isis

Hi Kathy, Isis is doing excellent. She is a cutie and makes us laugh all the time. Our other Catahoula has pretty much taken to being the mother and looks after her and Isis follows her everywhere and does what she does and it is quite cute. I have attached a picture of Isis on her bed (ruling the roost!)

Good afternoon, This is Mrs. Tetreault. How are you? We named our new dog Jenna and she is doing wonderfully. She has adjusted well to our home, our 3 kids and our 10 year old pekanese. Jenna has grown so much grown so much since we adopted her. She is a lot of fun, very playful and the kids just adore her. We took her for the initial check up to the vet listed in the packet we received. Jenna did well with her exam. She is now due for an additional shot. Can you advise as to where we would take her for the free one you had indicated at the time of the adoption. Otherwise, I can just take her to our doctor we take our pekanese to. Thank you for checking in with us. You can email us at anytime. Sincerely, Christine Tetreault

Rome
Rome

Hi Kathy, Sorry for the delay in my response. We have had family in town and I haven't been checking my email as much as usual. Rome (now named Tank) is doing well. I am getting used to having a dog after 15 long years! He is everything I had hoped he would be. Great with the kids and our other animals. The girls adore him. He does not chase our rabbits (who have their own pen) and the cat has told him she is the boss. He is doing well with housebreaking. I hope to start an obedience class with him shortly. He has already picked up on sit and come. He is already a much loved member of our family. Thank you for choosing us! Kathy, Walt, Marie, Shannon, and Roxanne Ellis

Both pups are doing quite well! They are both about twice the size they were when we adopted them. They are both going to Petsmart puppy training (they're in their 4th week) and are really getting the tricks and commands down. Both pups are doing better with potty training. They wear each other out by running, chasing and wrestling. They are both lap dogs, which might pose a problem when they are full grown. I tried to send some pics, but for some reason your e-mail keeps bouncing back. I'll try again another time. Gary Diamond PS...we changed Brownie's name to Bau.
