Animal Success Stories
As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek! Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes. We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families. If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story! Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Jupiter
We absolutely love Jupiter. We've renamed him Dewey. He is doing very well. He is a very sweet, lovable dog. He loves affection, and is very sweet when he wants to be pet and loved. But when he wants to play or wants more attention, he bites. Hard! He has lots of running time, and has an assortment of toys and soup bones he knaws on, and we try to turn his attention to these when he starts biting us, but he still seems to prefer to bite us. He loves to play with his toys and I hear him in the other room making his toy squeek right now.
He learned to sit and come very quickly, and he is learning to stay. Although he is not totally house broken yet, he is well on his way.
He was very afraid of any loud noise or sudden movement when we first got him, and he is still a little skittish, but seems to be growing out of it. He also ran the very first time he saw a leash in my hand! When I hooked it onto his collar he started yelping and crying and flipping himself around. I picked him up and calmed him down, and took him outside and set him in the yard with the leash on, and He started yelping again, so loud that my entire family and a neighbor came running over! There he was flipping around when I wasn't even holding the other end of the leash! We all just stood there watching him. Finally he calmed down, but as soon as I touched the leash, he started again. He still acts terrible when he sees the leash, but we put it on him and make him walk around with it on anyway, and he seems to be getting used to it.
Ju Bill Lee
Hi:
Spencer is a beautiful puppy. He's adjusted very well to our family. Growing fast but still as cute as a button. He was 20 lbs at our first visit with Dr. Fox, Saturday he weighted 27 lbs! Picture attached.
He's enrolled in Behavioral Training Classes, week 3 this Saturday. He gets lots of exercise with our grandchildren who visit everyday after school. We were very happy with the entire adoption procedure.
Are only questions/concerns were how much crate training he had and he really could have used a bath. He was really, really stinky.
We thank you and are recommending you to anyone thinking about getting a pet.
Thanks,
Rosemarie and Stuart Taylor
Juicy
She is doing well, we named her Toffee because of her coloring. She loves our other two dogs . Its funny, she loves Pepper our border collie like a mom and she likes to play with Chewey our wheaton terrier. She seemed very timid at first but has gotten very attached to me since I am home alot right now. She is getting less timid with my husband too. She has a lot of energy and is pretty fiesty but she is also very sweet when she calms down. Likes to eat too no matter what it is, we have learned to guard our food.
I will send pictures when I figure out how to download them to the computer. We are very happy with her and she seems to be happy too.
Thank you again and for all you guys do to help animals. I wish I could adopt more but my husband has drawn the line at three. I will work on him though.

She is adjsting well,Erin (our daughter) loves her so much she lays in her doggie bed next to Jamie and gives her hugs. She also hand feeds her, it is cute. She still is a little shy but each day we see improvement.
