Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Naughty
Naughty

To all, Thank-you for inquiring about Naughty now known as Nadia, I could not keep that name, and I"m glad I didn't, she is such a good girl, she has only had a few accidents in potty training, she usually minds well, and she is a great joy she usually wakes me up one time a night to go outside to go potty, I'm at home quite a bit so so goes out often during the day, we have since adopted another puppy from animal care & control, today is the first day they can be together because of quarantine, they seem to get along but we are taking it slowly on them being together all the time, the other puppy is alot larger then Nadia, so she gets tired out quickly. will keep you up to date progress. Zoey is doing great!! She is now 15.5 pounds. Zoey has a wonderful personality and quite smart already. Zoey has learned to sit, stay and lay down so far. She goes to the front door to do her business and has very little accidents in the house. My family and I love Zoey, last night Zoey slept on my chest for about an hour. Kinda reminded me of my kids when they were babies. I will be sending pictures soon.

Good afternoon, This is Mrs. Tetreault. How are you? We named our new dog Jenna and she is doing wonderfully. She has adjusted well to our home, our 3 kids and our 10 year old pekanese. Jenna has grown so much grown so much since we adopted her. She is a lot of fun, very playful and the kids just adore her. We took her for the initial check up to the vet listed in the packet we received. Jenna did well with her exam. She is now due for an additional shot. Can you advise as to where we would take her for the free one you had indicated at the time of the adoption. Otherwise, I can just take her to our doctor we take our pekanese to. Thank you for checking in with us. You can email us at anytime. Sincerely, Christine Tetreault

Neon

Hi Shelly, here is the latest picture of Taz (Neon). He is fitting in very well with the family. Still working on the potty training. I really liked Dr Fox and have decided to keep him as Taz's vet. His last visit he weighed in @ 21 lbs. He loves to play with Lulu (our Catahoula). He sleeps with us every night! Hopefully he won't be as big as Lulu (70 lbs) or we might have a bed situation!! If you ever want to come see him just let me know. I will keep sending pictures. Thanks for taking such great care of him when he was little.
