Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Uggi
Uggi

Uggie who is now named Charlie is doing great. We went to puppy playgroup today and he is blending in and playing well with the other dogs. We start training school soon but he already knows how to sit, shake pay and dance. Although he hates the crate, he stay in if I need to run to the grocery store, but not for more than an hour. He sleeps with us every night and waits for us to wake up before getting out of bed. We rush him out so he can do his business. It was a fun time at the dog event last saturday and everyone got to see Charlie and we heard his brother was adopted. Yeah! Also got to meet his mom. What a beauty she is. He received his rabies shot last week and did well with it. However last month the bortello and lepro shot made him sick. He is supposed to go back for those again in 2 weeks. Yikes. not sure if I want him to have them but the vet says it is important. We love him very much and are thankful he is in our lives! Phyllis Wallschleger

Uno
Uno

Thank you for emailing. His name is changed to bandit. Seems to fit him better. He is a very happy puppy. He looks more like an American Bull dog the older he gets. Bandit does go to the vet for all he needs. Hopefully you will be able to open the picture. Thank you again. Dorothy

Urma
Urma

Urma, now Daisy, is doing great! She is a wonderful addition to our family and while I may be biased, she is so smart and learning more and more each day. She is apx. 14 weeks, has her second vet visit this Saturday and has attended one obedience class. She loves the kids and is getting more confident around the 2 cats each day. Little do these large cats know, she will one day tower over them. Also, while I am thinking of it, I keep forgetting to register her chip. I would like to do that now but considering I am at work I do not have the number or web site. Is that something you can email me? Thanks for checking in, Lynn Williams

Uzi
Uzi

Hello, Uzi has been the best decision I've made. He is a wonderful companion and a great dog. I actually changed is name to Ryder, which seems to fit him well and he does come to it now. I make sure to walk him and spoil him as much as possible. Ryder has made some good friends and we go to the dog parks as often as possible. I'll attach some pics of us. We are also moving into a house in a week with a good friend of mine that has a dog named Barney, so Ryder will have a lot more company when i'm at work, which i'm very thrilled about. Thanks for checking in on us, we're doing great! I will keep you updated on how everything is going! Sincerely, Kristi

Ubu
Ubu

Tucker (formerly Ubu) is doing great. We had a little problem in the beginning as he turned out to have worms when I adopted him, but he seems to be recovering nicely. He's pretty much completely house-trained and eats like a horse. My other dog, Bella, loves Tucker but is quick to let him know she's the boss. They spend the majority of the day playing together and it's not uncommon to see Tuck flying off the couch to tackle her. All that playing tends to wear them out, so we all take a nap every afternoon, and Tucker's favorite spot is curled up on the pillow right next to my head :) I couldn't be happier with Tucker & the great addition he is to my little family! Thanks so much for following up, I'll send pictures this weekend. Thanks,
