Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Tempest

Hello, We adopted Tempest on March 5, 2011. We renamed her Dakota. Dakota is spoiled rotten and we all love her! She has doubled in weight and is very healthy. We are still working on potty training as she sometimes goes pee pee in the house. Dakota started Puppy K last week and attends 2 times per week. She is very smart and knows sit and stay. Still working on the puppy biting... I'll be happy when the teething stops :-) Dakota is a swimmer. She loves our pool. We are very happy in our decision to adopt Dakota and provide her a forever home! Attached are a few recent pictures. Thank you,
Michele Baisley and Family

Inchalada has been a very welcome addition to our family. He has acclimated well, and seems to be really happy. We are delighted with the adoption. Thank you so much. Mark Keegan

Conch
Conch

Hi Kathy, I really love Lacy (aka Conch). She is so loyal and loving. Potcakes have always been my favorite dog. This week she will be going to Eleuthra for Vacation. This potcake has never had it so good. They are a very special breed and I can really relate to them. It has been hard with the potty training, I think because she was in a pen for so long. I will take her for a walk and then she will come back and go to the toilet in the house. I am working on that. At least its easier than raising a teenager! You are doing such great work. Thank you. Lynn

Coach
Coach

Hi there! Coach (aka...Jake) is doing great. He is a happy & healthy puppy. He is bonding well with our other puppy and with the kids. He sleeps with my daughter every night. He's loved! Thanks so much for checking in... Warmly, Mitch & Jennifer Glasser

He is in puppy training classes, doing fantastic (the best in the class if you ask me). He loves to play with all dogs. The bigger the better. We took him to the PetExpo Saturday and Peter got to see him. He's almost 4 months and weight 32 pounds. He'll get his rabies shot this or next week and then he'll get to enjoy the dog park. He was a very unexpected addition to our family and all but our 2 cats are enjoying him. We're hoping they come around as he gets older.
