Animal Success Stories
As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek! Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes. We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families. If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story! Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Ike
Hi Judy, I just wanted to send you some photos of Ike (now known as Oliver) and let you know that he is doing very well.
Thanks for the wonderful puppy, we are so happy with him.
Sincerely,
Lindsey
Bobby (Brady Bunch)
Please let his foster mom, Erica, know he is adapting well to his new home! We are enjoying all his energy!! We went for a walk to show him off to the neighbors. He was a big hit! Pam
Tumpa
Hi Lisa, Back in November 2012 my mom adopted Tumpa n.k.a. Cody. His foster mom was Judy. He is doing fantastic! He truly is the best dog. He is super smart and loves his two mutt brothers, Happy and Houdini. They run together constantly and love to tumble in the snow. I am attaching a pic of the "three amigos" (he's in the middle) after coming in from their outside play time. Thank you for the work you do!
Take care, Amy
Becks
Hi A Second Chance,
We fostered Becks for a week and then adopted him. We changed his name to Dexter, but call him Dex which he's answered to since the day we brought him home, since it is so similar.
He loves the doggie park to run and make friends with other dogs which has done away with his aggressive barking and lunging on the leash. All set to start Intermediate training at PetSmart. He passed the basic obedience after just a few days work, and now we can take him around the store to see all the other dogs with no barking or lunging.
As you know, I fell in love with him from just his pictures. The first day I saw him sealed that forever love. He has also picked me as his person, so the fairy tale continues. He is the love of my life, next to my husband and my Cairn Terriers, that accepted him after a week of holy mess getting the pack straight!! Dex now realizes he is very loved and is willing to submit to the 15-20 pound terrors....oh I meant terriers!!
The whole family is in love with him. We finally have the water dog we looked for. He loves the pool and goes in several times a day to play. I'm always there playing life guard, so not to worry about him. He is the best and we were so lucky to come to see him at the Green Market in WPB the day he was there. This was a meant to be story. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO to bring these wonderful animals into forever families!
Lynn & Steve & daughter Jenna too!
Marco
We have renamed Marco Warren. He is hilariously funny and very loving and sociable. He hides his toys in his pet carrier if he thinks you are going to put them away.
He immediately took to our 6 year old Siamese who was a little slower to return his affections. Now they play daily. He loves to watch TV. He is learning where not to scratch and a few voice commands. He is very big on cuddling.
He loves to watch TV. We don't remember who was in charge of the remote before we got him, but he is now!
