Animal Success Stories
As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek! Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes. We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families. If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story! Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Marshmallow
Marshmallow is now called "Rigby" and he is doing very well on his daily walks with me. He is learning his name and is doing well with his house training. He was a bit underweight when we brought him home, but has been eating well and beginning to put a little weight back on. Rigby is very playful and has a small problem with chewing, but a new chew toy has solved that issue. He loves to sit at my feet and follow me around the house. He is turning out to be the little companion I needed and was looking for. I believe we are both happy and less lonely in our new little family. Thank you all for bringing us together. Everyone was friendly and helpful and had real concern for the pet and my needs. Rigby is great! Diane
Uuma
We absolutely are thrilled with our adoption choice. She is all that and a bag of chips...by the way we adjusted her name slightly, she is now known as Luna and we are over the moon with her. Thanks to Lisa and Luna's foster mom, Danielle! What wonderful, kind souls you have. Kelly and Maria
Wakona
Chesney is an amazing pup and we are so thankful for her. We have had her for a couple of weeks now and so far have seen multiple different personalities from her. She is sooooo sweet and wants to cuddle in one moment and the next is this feisty little pup thinking she owns the world. She is extremely friendly and loves all people but is very skittish around other dogs. We had our friends come over the other night with their dog who is pretty big. Chesney would run up to her and then run away and hide – she did this over and over again for about an hour and then very slowly she started getting pretty comfortable with the bigger dog. By the end of the night they were best friends and Chesney was acting as if she was the bigger dog and wasn’t scared one bit! I am hoping this will be the beginning of her getting over her fear with other dogs. She is a blessing to our family and we couldn’t be more in love.
Thank you so much!
Nigel
I've had Nigel for a year now and he has been the sweetest dog. He is such a goofball, and has tons of energy to run around and keep up with me and my family. My dad has grown attached to him and fights with me all the time over whose dog Nigel really is. Nigel gets along with my other two dogs great, he keeps them young we like to say. I don't know what I would do without his big wet nose in my face every morning so happy to see me. After my dog Riley had passed, Nigel came to bring life back into my family and he has definitely done that. I feel so grateful to have found your rescue a year ago, because I have no idea what life would be like without my baby boy around me. Erica
Napster
Hi everyone! Sorry we haven't given an update on Napster. He's doing great with us! Everyone loves him here and gives him a lot of attention, so much that he just falls asleep wherever he falls. The first day I brought him home he tried to protect me from my husband who came home from work. Since then, my husband and Napster have become more like brothers and they roll around on the floor together! Anytime we ask Napster for a kiss, he presses his nose against our lips. He will randomly walk up to us and jump up and hug us, resting his head on our lap or shoulder like a baby and then goes and plays with his toys. On the 4th of July we found out he is afraid of fireworks! Every time one exploded he would jump up and cry to be picked up. Once in my arms he was fine, but it was adorable to watch his curiosity from the safety of my arms only. He is potty trained I think mostly on his own because he knew to scratch at the door when he wanted to go outside. We live upstairs and he waits at the top until we get there. If I don't walk fast enough, I get barked at! We all love him very much and are very happy with him!! Oh, and Napster even gets along with our lizard! Thanks so much! Katie
