Animal Success Stories
As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek! Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes. We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families. If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story! Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Hamilton
Hello! I just wanted to put a success story up about the puppy we adopted four months ago after seeing some of the success stories of his litter mates. Hamilton, renamed Jasper, is doing great! He is mostly deaf, as I have read about a couple of his siblings, but he is such a smart dog. (It is interesting to know that at least some of his siblings are also deaf). He is very visual because of his hearing deficit - he likes to watch tv! He is a handful but he is learning hand signals quickly. He is such a sweetheart. We love him so much. He just turned 6 months old last week and he already weighs 50 pounds! I'm curious to know how big his litter mates are getting. Here are some pictures of him...

5/18/12 He is doing just fine. He has already been to the vet for the last parvo shot and he is going to the groomers on Wednesday. I finally think he is almost potty trained. I tried to send this last week after I got it and it wouldnt go through. I hope it goes this time and if it does I will send pictures of him for you. Thanks, Jan and Ed
Sophie
Hi Traci.. We are having so much fun with Georgie(Sophie). She is still a little feisty but our dog is keeping her busy, lol. Carl built the cat perch in the attached pictures and as you see our puppy Gracie likes it too. Georgie slept off by herself near her litterbox and food/water dish in our master bathroom but now the last 3 nights she has started to sleep with Carl and I and Gracie in our bed. She loves to clean our faces with her sand paper tongue. I have a lot of pictures on my cell phone I'll try to send you too. She is too cute not to take pictures of. We have a lot even the kids take them with their cameras.
I'm on facebook and I have posted pictures on there if you want to check them out too.
Can't thank you enough. Thanks, Lori, Carl, Rainey, Logan, Ryder, Gracie
Zappa
June 2012 update: Hi! It was nice to hear from you. I sent some new pictures of Rocky from our summer vacation in Maine. He had a blast running around up there. We just celebrated his 2nd birthday in April. He is the most precious dog and has such a fun, happy personality. I am so happy he is part of my family. The love of an animal is such an amazing gift. Thank you for all that you and A Second Chance do. Marion -------
Thank you for checking up on Zappa (Rocky). He is doing great and has brought so much joy to our family! I just love him and feel like he has always been a part of the family! I can't believe how much he has grown in just a few short weeks, but he is cute as ever and so well behaved! He seems to love the attention too, people are always stopping to fuss over him when we take him for walks... he is so friendly with children... and he had his first beach adventure the other night! He was a little afraid of the water, but sure did love rolling around in the sand!!! I have attached a few pictures of him from his first few days at home.. he has gotten a lot bigger since then, but these are the only pictures I have uploaded on this computer right now.
Zeicha
Zeicha, now Peanut, is doing great! She is getting along great with everyone in the family, including our other dog Bella! Thanks for checking in and giving us the opportunity to care for such a sweetie pie! Thanks, Kristy and Family
