Animal Success Stories
As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek! Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes. We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families. If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story! Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Marsala
Hi Dale
Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. We renamed Marsala....Neilla. She is doing very well, her and Niko are getting along great. She is getting big she is now about 25 lbs and taller than Niko. Neilla loves outside and playing with Niko. She has been to the beach a bunch and on her first road trip up North. She fits in perfect with our little family. Thank you again for all your help. I am attaching a photo.
Major
We adopted the unbelievably cute Audi and Major (since renamed Kona and Makana) in October and hoped that they would bond and become best friends. We anticipated a lengthy period of adjustment and boy, were we wrong – as it took just a few short hours for them to become as inseparable as biological brothers!
These blue-eyed boys play together, sleep together, eat together, and yes, sometimes brawl like siblings. Their favorite game is to chase each other up the double staircase, sprint into the master bedroom and jump up the 6-foot kitty tower to play tag. Their second favorite game is to proudly carry their toys all over the house, bring them over so they can be thrown, and then the process can begin anew. They can do this for hours, trust us!
Our thanks to A Second Chance (especially Gemma) for letting us bring these beautiful boys into our lives. They are a true joy.

Barnaby
Wonderful, we all love him and he makes us smile at least once a day, couldn't ask for more!
Murphy (formerly Barnaby), now seven months, and just passed his puppy stage one training, and might I add, with flying colors!
Once again, thank you for giving us the opportunity to change Murphy's life and for him to change ours.
Alker Family
Lindsay
I love my pet. I changed her name, she is now Kayla. I am so happy that Kayla is part of our family. We are all adjusting very well.
My 9 year old (only child) is learning certain responsibilities as we are training Kayla.
Kayla is a very happy and alert dog. We love her.
