Animal Success Stories
As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek! Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes. We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families. If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story! Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Naughty
To all,
Thank-you for inquiring about Naughty now known as Nadia, I could not
keep that name, and I"m glad I didn't, she is such a good girl, she has only had
a few accidents in potty training, she usually minds well, and she is a great joy
she usually wakes me up one time a night to go outside to go potty, I'm at
home quite a bit so so goes out often during the day, we have since adopted another
puppy from animal care & control, today is the first day they can be together because
of quarantine, they seem to get along but we are taking it slowly on them being together
all the time, the other puppy is alot larger then Nadia, so she gets tired out quickly.
will keep you up to date progress.

Cubby
Hi,
My name is Lila Ritchey and we adopted Cubby, whos name is now Jet! He is such a good and well behaved dog. He now knows come, sit, paw, down, crate and we are starting to teach him fun tricks like roll over! He also like a game of fetch. He does not care to jump into the pool yet but he certainly loves water more his size like a bath! He is very funny when we take him on walks, he must have the leash in his mouth like he is walking himself! He has learned our routine and loves to cuddle up on the TV couch while we all watch a movie. My husband and I are very glad we got to adopt a dog like Jet.
Brandi
Hi Kathy,
Brandi is doing well, and has been to see the vet twice for her shots and
follow-up appointment.
Socially, she is doing well most of the time, but sometimes she gets a
little wild and climbs the furnature and walls, and she claws and bites us
when she plays. So I'm not sure if we doing something wrong with her, or do
we need to "train" this behavior out of her with time-outs, etc. She's
definitely got a wild streak. Is this a phase that young cats go through?
Adorra
Thank you for the follow up,
Adorra is doing great. When my wife and I first saw her in the Petco
at a weekend adoption meet up, we knew that she was the puppy for us.
We brought her home and has been a member of the family ever since.
She's done a great job adjusting to life with our other dog, a
Manchester Terrier, and they both spend many hours napping together,
playing, and cuddling with us. We're so glad we have Adorra (whose
name we actually changed to Waffles) as a part of our family.
