Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Baboo
Baboo

Baboo is doing wonderfully. It is as if we've had her for years. We have 3 other male pugs, but she definitely rules the roost. Thank you, Robin

Sherman
Sherman

My son fell in love with this puppy as soon as we entered the RV belonging to ”A Second Chance”. Kevin is 10 and he had been after us for at least a year that he wanted a dog. Being a cat person, I was not too enthralled with the idea, but that afternoon we were going to meet friends at the movies , saw the sign for “A Second Chance” and our future was written on the wall! Kevin wasn’t interested in smaller puppies, as I had thought, but instead, fell in love with “Sherman” at first sight. We fostered him for a month, to make sure that it would work out, and now….I can’t separate the two! Snoopy, as he is now called, sleeps on his doggie bed, beside Kevin’s bed, and gives us many hours of entertainment. The cats have got used to a dog (four times their size)trying to play and eat their food, , he barks when he wants to go out, and knocks when he wants to come back in! He is the most tail wagging dog that we have ever met, and all the visiting kids enjoy the growing horse- I mean, puppy. A rescue animal is always the best. Somehow they know their predicament and love you all the more for it. Kudos to “A Second Chance” for all your hard work! Natalie Thompson

Fudge
Fudge

sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner, but I hardly ever check my e-mail. However , Zeus is doing just fine (I renamed him, he is no longer known as Fudge). He is growing so fast and he has a wonderful personality. I wouldn't trade him for nothing. Here are some pictures of him when I first adopted him and what he looks like today, July 08 2011. He is such a beautiful puppy, don't you think?

Ying Yang

Hi!

My name is Jessica. We adopted a dog from A Second Chance Rescue and her name used to be Ying Yang. She's a black lab mix. We renamed her Roxi and she has grown so big and healthy. She loves our other dog, Sandy. We wanted to give you updated pictures of her and tell you how shes doing.

Sincerely,

Jessica

Thorr

Kathy Thank you for taking the time out to ask about Thorr. With all that you have going on I am impressed that you can keep up with all the wonderful adoptions. I have sent a few emails to Thorr's foster Mom Ms. Ruth. What a great gal she is. We renamed Thorr, Big Boy although we don’t seem to call him that. We call him Monkey ! which is he is lovingly named! He seems to have take to that name and wags his tail when we say " Monkey" Oh what a love he is . it is like we have a new born baby at home. He is such a love. He has so much energy and plays with our bunny (they chase each other) and Monkey plays with all the dogs especially Le-Le who is adopted as well our bull terrier. He growls and bites her face , her feet and he sounds so ferousious!! He wants to be held so we are trying not to spoil him too bad. He needs to walk hahhhaha He sleeps with us at night , on a blankie we got him. He is so sweet, he put him up in bed he snarls and plays with a stuffed animal ,we love on him he gives kisses, gets tired then crawls under his blankie and goes to sleep. A few times we have had to retrieve him from the foot of the bed under the covers. We laughed so hard the other day we had our feet up on an automan in the living room , he jumped up on the automan , jumped in my lap on the rocker, then back on the automan, then he jumped on Joey's back while he was standing there. Oh my god it was something out of funniest videos. The expression on Joe (who is blind and adopted) and Monkey when he realized the surface was MOVING….was priceless.
