Welcome to A Second Chance

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek! Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes. We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families. Sophie

Hi Kathy, Sophie has become a wonderful new addition to our family. We had some rough spots early on but once Sophie figured out her order in the pack, everything fell into place. She is making great progress in her obedience class and will be moving on to the intermediate class in a couple of weeks. She is also a great running partner which was one of the reasons I wanted to get a dog in the first place. Not only does she run with me at night but she also loves to run next to us when we go on bicycle rides. The one thing we are still working on is dog aggression but I think she will overcome that as well, we just need a little bit more time to socialize with other dogs.
