Welcome to A Second Chance

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek! Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes. We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families. Barnes

Barnes (I call him Barney) is doing great. He and my cat love to play together. At first he ran every time when I reached out to touch him. Now he lets me pet him 2/3 of the time. In the last week, he has come up on the couch and laid down about a foot from me and let me pet him. He is getting closer and closer. Soon I hope he will be in my lap. He has a BIG appetite and likes to push my cat, Sammee, out of the way when he's eating and eat his too. He had no manners at all when I brought him home. He had no idea what "no" meant. He knows now. He is also just getting used to hearing his name, and looks at me when I say it. I sent some pictures to Deven, but I will send those and a few more for you all to see. He is a joy, not destructive at all, quiet as can be.....a model cat. (...but you can see by the last two pictures, that he is part frog!)
