Welcome to A Second Chance

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek! Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes. We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families. Nilla

Hi! I wanted to send you a follow-up on my adoptee - Nilla - who has been renamed Jake. I adopted him on April 30, 2011 when he was 7 weeks old. I LOVE HIM!!

I adopted him shortly after my first "baby" passed away (she was 13 years old - labrador) and I could not stand the loneliness. Jake is the best dog ever! My daughter and I love him and he is part of not only the family but our neighborhood. He has several dog friends in the neighborhood and he loves to play with them. Everyone who meets him just adores him.

If I only knew then what a great dog he would be, I would have adopted two from that litter. He doesn't chew any household item, only his toys, he is obedient and loving. He barks only to get our attention to throw the ball or if he sees something that appears untrustworthy to him. He is the apple of my eye! The picture I've attached was taken on his first birthday.
