Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Spunky

Our sweet, mischievous Vinny (formerly Spunky) is now all grown up.  He's a year and a half old, weighs just over 9 pounds, and the vet says he has perfect teeth.  He loves watching birds on the feeders from our screened in porch, enjoys chasing our 14 and a half year old cat, Zoe, all over the house and has become a great studio buddy...he watches me paint for hours!

He is a comedian, a very definite personality...part sweetie pie and part wild boy.

We love Vinny!

Ivie

Hi my name is Jennifer and I adopted Ivie earlier this year. My roommate had been fostering her for a long time and when I moved to a new place I took her with me and started fostering her myself.

After a while I realized I couldn’t stand the thought of this pup leaving my little family and I had to keep her.  I knew she had a bad past so I wanted to make sure she would always be happy and loved, especially by her little sister! She is the most cuddly adorable animal.  She's like my little kitty cat.

Tyson

Over all Tyson is a hard headed and very stubborn, that has to do with the bulldog in his blood.  He is learning the rules slow but sure.  He doesn't have a mean bone in his body and if we both live through his puppy stuff he will be a wonderful dog!  He does well on a leash and likes going for walks.  He gets into things when I'm gone for long periods but it's nothing serious and to be expected.  When I come back in, he's always glad to see me.

Tyson is said to be part boxer and I suspect he also has some pit blood. I've had ten boxers during my lifetime, some more challenging than others.  For the most part they were all great dogs in time, so Tyson fits the bill and I knew he was going to be a little more of a challenge than some I've had in the past.  Over all he seems smart and very teachable.

Bentley the puppy

Bentley, now known as Rufus, is doing very well.  He is an awesome puppy and has made himself at home with the big dog, Chloe.

Tsunami

Tsunami, now known as Bella, has adjusted very well to her new home. She is, of course, a puppy so we are still potty training but she's getting it.  She has lots of chew toys because she is still teething.  Bella just went for her second vet visit and had her rabies vaccination.  She also just started revolution for heartworms, ticks and fleas.

She is my baby and she is spoiled rotten.
