Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Goober
Goober

Dear Second Chance Rescue, My name was Goober but my family changed it to Beau(French for handsome and short for T-Beau) on December 3rd 2011. I am so happy here in my new home. I have a kitty brother named Gator who likes to play with me every morning. Every night I sleep with my 17 year old boy in his room and I whimper when I need to go outside. Sometimes I cry in my sleep but my 11 year girl tells me it's probably because I miss my mommy Gypsy. I am not sad for long because I know she is in good hands with her foster family. Thank you Second Chance for giving me my forever home. Love, Beau Goober was adopted on December 3rd and we were told that his chip was accidentally switched with Gatsby's. Gatsby's picture is definitely our puppy Beau. I'm sending am updated picture. Beau is doing so well. He is a fast learner. He already has three tricks to perform ; Sit, stay and the best trick, "give me your foot". He is a very easy going puppy but he loves to play. He thoroughly enjoyed riding in the car to look at Christmas lights in Jupiter. Dr. Fox says he's doing fine. He weighed 16 pounds on December 27th. We are looking forward to many happy years with Beau in our lives. Thank you for providing such a wonderful opportunity. Sincerely, The Moss family

Gabe
Gabe

Gabe is doing great, he’s a really good dog. He’s made himself right at home as you can see in the picture. Sleeps with me every night. I’m having my whole yard fenced in, so in a couple of weeks he’s going to have almost 2 acres to run around on. Vet said he’s in good health. I’ve also sent the previous owner pictures. All in all he’s just a big lover dog, all tongue. Thanks Danny

Gordy

He's doing great! He follows my wife everywhere and really loves the attention he gets from all three kids. He even gets along great with our other two mini pins. He's the perfect lap dog. He spends hours in bed with my wife watching television and he has 4 beds in several rooms of the house. You can always find him in one of them during the day. At night, he took ownership of a large chaise lounge chair in my wife's room and sleeps there all night. Once he settles in, on top of a huge pillow, he doesnt move all night. He won't even get up in the morning until he's ready to. It's pretty comical actually. He's a perfect fit. He still doesn't like men, but he's slowly getting used to me. I give him lots of attention so he's starting to warm up some. I'll send a pic in another email, don't think my phone will let me attach one with an email. He's a great lil dude and we all seem very happy.

Thanks again....
Brandon B.

Georgia
Georgia

Hi. This is the Apolito family letting you know Gracie (Georgia) is fitting in to the family very well. She is a very fast learner and behaves well. The typical "puppy thing" as always like peeing sometimes when she is nervous, she does not chew anything because we stay on her and make sure she has plenty of toys and chewy bones for her to "destroy." We are VERY happy to have her as a part of our family. We taught her to swim a couple of weeks ago and she is like a fish now!

Thank you very much for letting us adopt our new "child!"

The Apolitos
